Every fixture is designed and made in Poland from solid brass, hand finished and paired with glass that ranges from mouth blown to cast, with the studio stating that almost 98 percent of the materials it uses, from fixture to packaging, are recyclable. How Schwung Lights Are Made
Every Schwung fitting starts with solid brass, paired with glass that is either mouth blown or cast, depending on the design. Each piece is then finished by hand before it leaves the workshop. Schwung also states that almost 98% of each fitting, from the piece itself to its packaging, can be recycled.
Glass and Finish Options
Many Schwung designs come in a choice of glass, each listed as its own product so you can see exactly how it looks:
- Opal Mat glass, a smooth milky white that softens and spreads the light evenly
- Marble glass, white glass swirled with warm brown veining
- Dries Ribbon glass, clear glass with fine vertical ribs that catch and scatter the light

- Frosted glass, a satin finish used on the Molecule and Hana ranges
Metalwork usually comes in Lacquered Burnished Brass, Black Gunmetal or Polished Nickel. The Babylon collection pairs its own brass finishes with natural marble, such as Rosso Levanto and Verde Alpi.
