Six Soft White Globes in an Oval Constellation
The Schwung Orion Mix 6 Light Chandelier/Flush in Opal Mat Glass arranges six mouth blown globes of two sizes, three at 200mm and three at 150mm, on slim brass arms around a central hub. Hung on its rods it is a compact chandelier; fitted close to the ceiling it becomes a flush light. In opal matte glass each globe glows as an even white sphere with no visible bulb, which makes this the calmest and most versatile of the three Orion Mix glass options. The fitting spans 603mm across and can drop anywhere from 288mm to around 1270mm depending on how it is hung, so please check your ceiling height before ordering.
Opal Matte Glass and Your Choice of Finish
The opal glass is soda lime triplex, matt on the outside, and it diffuses the LED inside completely. The result is a soft, shadowless light that suits rooms where people sit and talk rather than rooms that need sparkle. The brass frame comes in three finishes:
- Lacquered Burnished Brass, a warm, gently aged brass sealed under lacquer
- Black Gunmetal, a deep charcoal black that makes the white globes stand out
- Polished Nickel, a bright, cool silver
Lacquered Burnished Brass varies slightly in tone from piece to piece, and all finishes look different on screen from how they do in the room.
How It Works
Mixed Globe Sizes
The Mix in the name refers to the two globe sizes. Three 200mm and three 150mm globes alternate around the hub, which breaks up the symmetry and gives the fitting a looser, more organic silhouette than the regular Orion rings.
Chandelier or Flush
Three extension rods of 150mm, 300mm and 450mm are included, and the canopy is compatible with vaulted or sloping ceilings. Mounted directly, the body is 288mm deep; with the rods it hangs at around 436mm, 736mm or 1186mm, and on a vaulted ceiling canopy the equivalent drops are approximately 530mm, 820mm and 1270mm. The canopy is 140mm across and 12mm deep.
Light Output
Six 4 to 5W E14 LED bulbs are supplied, giving around 1320 lumens at a warm 2200K to 3000K. Replacement E14 lamps up to 10W each can be used. The fitting is dimmable with electronic dimmers only, ELV or trailing edge.

Where It Works Best
Hung on a rod over a round dining table or a kitchen island, the opal Orion Mix gives an even, flattering light for eating and cooking. Mounted flush it suits a hallway, a landing or a bedroom ceiling where there is no height to spare, and the glowing white globes read almost like a cluster of lanterns. It also works well in a dressing room or a hotel corridor, anywhere a soft, decorative general light is wanted without glare.
