A Cloud of Diffused Light
Nineteen glass spheres in two sizes gather around a brass frame in an effervescent, cloud like formation. In opal mat glass, the Nova 19 is the most universally liveable version of this chandelier, each globe fully diffusing the light inside it into a soft, even glow rather than letting any of the bulb show through. Combined across all nineteen globes, the effect is a warm, enveloping wash of light rather than a scatter of individual points.
Opal Mat Glass, Three Frame Finishes
Opal mat is the most versatile of Schwung's three signature glass types, chosen for rooms where an even, glare free light matters more than sparkle or pattern. The frame comes in Black Gunmetal, Lacquered Burnished Brass or Polished Nickel, so the metal tone can be matched to the room. Every globe is mouth blown by hand, so slight variation between globes is normal rather than a flaw.
How It Works
The Nova 19 takes 19 x 5W LED bulbs (E14/E12 base, included), together producing 8,550 to 9,500 lumens at 3000K. It's dimmable, but only with electronic ELV or trailing edge dimmers. The fitting is rated IP20, so it's intended for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms. The chandelier is 688mm in diameter, with rods supplied to set the drop between 630mm and 1530mm on a fixed ceiling (732mm to 1632mm on a vaulted one), and weighs 20kg. All rods and bulbs are included in the box.

Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. According to Schwung, the opal mat finish is achieved by fusing a milky glass layer over a clear inner globe, which is what gives it such an even, fully diffused glow compared with the brand's other glass types.
