A Ten Light Chandelier That Reads as One Continuous Line
The Armstrong Linear takes ten hand blown glass globes and threads them along a solid brass bar, staggering the drop of each light so the fitting reads less like a row of pendants and more like a single sculptural form suspended over a table. In opal mat glass, that form gains a soft, even glow, the kind of light that fills a room without announcing itself.
In Opal Mat Glass
Opal mat glass fully diffuses the light passing through it, so each of the ten globes glows as a smooth, glare free sphere rather than a visible point of light. It is the most versatile of Schwung's three glass options for the Linear 10, giving a warm, consistent wash of light that suits everyday family kitchens as comfortably as a formal dining room, and it pairs easily with almost any other finish or material in the room.
Choose Your Finish
The brass bar and fittings are available in three finishes: Black Gunmetal, for a darker, more graphic frame that lets the glass do the talking, Lacquered Burnished Brass, with a warm aged tone protected by a clear lacquer, and Polished Nickel, for a cooler, more reflective finish.
How It Works
Ten integrated LED globes run at 4 to 5W each on an E14/E12 base, for a combined output of around 2200 lumens at a warm white 2200 to 3000K. The fitting is dimmable, but only with a compatible electronic dimmer using ELV or trailing edge technology. It carries an IP20 rating, so it is intended for dry, indoor spaces only. The brass bar spans 1635mm wide by 768mm deep, with the ten globes hung at staggered drops; three extension rods (150mm, 300mm and 450mm) are included so the overall drop can be adjusted to suit the ceiling, and the canopy is compatible with both flat and vaulted ceilings. The complete fitting weighs 18.6kg.
Where It Works Best
Its scale and horizontal format make the Armstrong Linear 10 best suited to spaces with a long run beneath it, a dining table, a kitchen island, or a run of open plan living space where a single strong ceiling piece can anchor the whole room. In opal glass, the light stays gentle enough to sit above a table where people will spend a long evening under it.
Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. Every Armstrong fitting is made to order at the Namyslow workshop, the brass frame formed and finished by hand and the glass globes individually mouth blown, so no two fittings are ever quite identical.
