Louis Poulsen
Louis Poulsen is one of Denmark's oldest and most influential lighting houses, tracing its roots to a Copenhagen import business founded by Ludvig Poulsen in 1874 that turned to electrical lighting in the 1890s. Its defining partnership began in 1924 with the architect and lighting designer Poul Henningsen, whose system of three angled shades was designed to eliminate glare and produced the PH 5 pendant in 1958, shown here in white, monochrome, hues, pastels and metallic finishes alongside the smaller PH 5 Mini. Henningsen's PH Artichoke pendant, created the same year for Copenhagen's Langelinie Pavillonen restaurant, is also represented in its metallic finish. The range includes Arne Jacobsen's AJ Mini table lamp, drawn from his 1957 lighting for the SAS Royal Hotel, and Verner Panton's Panthella 250 portable table lamp, an organically shaped design from the early 1970s.Filters
