The Schwung Babylon Horizon Wall Sconce / Flush Mount is a sculptural statement light combining natural marble, beautifully finished metalwork and six softly illuminated glass globes.
Babylon Collection Design
Part of Schwung's Babylon Collection, the Horizon takes its name from the line where the sky appears to meet the earth. Its lights are arranged across an interlocking geometric frame, casting illumination in multiple directions and giving the fitting a striking architectural presence whether switched on or off.
Marble and Brass Finish Options
The Babylon Horizon is available in four distinctive combinations:
- Classic Bronze and Rosso Levanto
- Mahogany Brass and Calacatta Viola
- Tarnished Silver Brass and Calacatta Black
- Vintage Brass and Verde Alpi
Each pairing gives the Horizon a different character, from rich red and green marble to the dramatic veining of Calacatta stone. As marble is a natural material, variations in colour, veining and pattern are to be expected, and are part of the beauty of natural stone.
How It Works
Wall or Ceiling Mounting, Adjustable Arms
The Horizon works as either a wall light or a flush ceiling light, and its arms can be positioned upright or downwards, so its composition can be adapted to suit the space.
Light Output
Six included 4W LED bulbs (around 15W halogen equivalent) provide a combined output of 1320 lumens, at a warm 2200 to 3000K colour temperature. The 230V version uses replaceable E14 bulbs, and the fitting can be dimmed when paired with a compatible dimmer.
Where It Works Best
Measuring 808mm high, 476mm wide and 238mm deep, the Horizon is a substantial feature piece, ideal for living rooms, dining spaces, entrance halls, bedrooms and luxury hospitality interiors. When ceiling mounted, its relatively shallow profile also makes it an impressive alternative to a traditional hanging chandelier.
Made By Schwung
Schwung was founded by Rudi Nijssen, an antiques dealer, and Dominique Sente, a former goldsmith. The studio designs its lighting in house and has it produced in Poland, working in solid brass and mouth blown or cast glass, with every piece finished and checked by hand.

Yes. The Horizon is designed as both a wall sconce and flush ceiling light, giving you considerably more flexibility over how it is used within an interior.
Are the bulbs included?
Yes. Six 4W LED bulbs are supplied with the fitting. On the UK/European 230V version, these use an E14 lamp base, so the bulbs are replaceable.
Is the Babylon Horizon dimmable?
Yes. Schwung confirms compatibility with dimmers, with compatible dimmer specifications provided in the instruction manual.
