Seventeen Arms, A Taller Brass Constellation
The Molecule Spark Round 17 shares the same brass nucleus and radiating arm structure as the Round 10, but gathers its extra arms into height rather than width. Where the ten light version spreads out into a wide, flatter sphere, the Round 17 forms a narrower, taller burst and can be lowered considerably further on its extension rods, a genuinely different silhouette from its smaller sibling rather than simply a bigger version of it.
In Transparent Glass
In transparent glass, the brass arms and the LED filaments inside each of the seventeen hemispheres stay fully visible, so the chandelier reads as a dense constellation of small, distinct points rather than one softly glowing form. With seventeen arms rather than ten, it throws more direct light and more visual detail into a room, rewarding a space where it can be seen properly rather than glimpsed in passing.
Choose Your Finish
The frame is available in Black Gunmetal or Lacquered Burnished Brass. Black Gunmetal recedes into the background and lets the seventeen transparent globes carry the design, while Lacquered Burnished Brass brings warmth to the arms themselves, so the metal glints between the glass as much as the light does.
How It Works
The chandelier takes 17 x E27, 5W LED bulbs, included, at 2700K warm white and around 7650 to 8500 lumens combined. It is dimmable, but only with an electronic dimmer switch, and is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. The fitting spans approximately 979mm across, narrower than the Round 10, with a drop adjustable from around 1011mm up to 1914mm using the supplied extension rods, well beyond the Round 10's maximum drop. It weighs approximately 14.2kg, with each glass hemisphere around 120mm in diameter.
Where It Works Best
Its narrower diameter and much longer possible drop make the Round 17 suited to spaces with real ceiling height where the fitting can hang low and still clear the arms, a double height stairwell, a tall entrance hall, or a dining room with a raised or vaulted ceiling. It takes up less floor width than the Round 10 but asks for more vertical room to make the most of its extended drop.
Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. According to Schwung, every fitting is made to order in solid brass and mouth blown glass at the Namyslow workshop, and a piece with seventeen individually fitted arms takes considerably more bench time to assemble than the smaller versions in the same family.
