Four Points of Light, One Sculptural Form

The Schwung Babylon 4 Light Flush/Wall Sconce Light takes the collection's cross shaped silhouette and scales it down to four arms, each ending in a pair of angled brass discs that cradle a single bulb, meeting at a central sphere of natural marble.

Marble and Brass Finish Options

It comes in four brass and marble pairings:

• Vintage Brass and Verde Alpi

Marble is a natural material, so the veining and colour of the central sphere will vary slightly from piece to piece and from the photographs shown.

How It Works

Wall or Ceiling Mounting

The fitting works as either a wall sconce or a flush ceiling light, so the same design can sit flat against a wall in a hallway or dining room, or mount close to a ceiling where a hanging pendant would sit too low.

Light Output

Four included 4W LED bulbs (around 15W halogen equivalent) give a combined output of 880 lumens, at a warm 2200 to 3000K colour temperature.

Where It Works Best

At 239mm high and 488mm across, it's the most compact fitting in the Babylon range, well suited to hallways, above a console table, or as a pair either side of a fireplace, as well as living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms and dining rooms.

Made By Schwung

Schwung was founded by Rudi Nijssen, an antiques dealer, and Dominique Sente, a former goldsmith. The studio designs its lighting in house and has it produced in Poland, working in solid brass and mouth blown or cast glass, with every piece finished and checked by hand before it leaves the workshop.

Yes. It works as both a wall sconce and a flush ceiling light, so it can be mounted either way depending on the space.

Will the marble centre match the photos exactly?
Not precisely. Marble is a natural material, so the colour and veining on your piece will vary slightly from the images and from other units in the same finish.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It's rated IP20, which means it isn't protected against moisture and shouldn't be fitted in a bathroom's electrical zones.
