The Smallest Idea, Fully Realised

The Odyssey Single Small takes the same cylindrical opal mat glass shade as the rest of the Single range and brings it down to its most compact size, 20cm tall and 10cm across. It is the smallest pendant in the Odyssey family, but it is still made from the same solid brass and mouth blown glass as every other piece Schwung produces, so nothing about the making is scaled down along with the size.

Choose Your Finish

Available in Black Gunmetal, a dark matte brass for moodier interiors, Lacquered Burnished Brass, which keeps the warm tone of natural brass under a protective lacquer, and Polished Nickel, a brighter, cooler finish for contemporary schemes. All three are hand finished in Poland and paired with the same opal mat glass shade.

How It Works

Takes 1x E14 LED bulb, 5W, around 500 lumens, 3000K warm white, not included. Rated IP20 and not designed for use with a dimmer switch. The cord adjusts across roughly 2 to 3 metres for an overall drop of approximately 25cm to 325cm, and the glass shade weighs 1kg, light enough to hang several together without the ceiling fixing needing special reinforcement. Bulb and ceiling fixings are not included.

Where It Works Best

The Small is the size to reach for when you want more than one pendant. Group three or five above a dining table or kitchen island at varying heights, run a cluster down a stairwell to make use of the vertical space, or hang a single one over a bedside table or small desk where a larger globe would feel out of proportion. A pair either side of a bathroom mirror also works well, given the low weight and compact glass.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. The brand makes every fitting to order, and the Single Small carries the same standard of hand blown glass and solid brass construction as the largest chandeliers in the Schwung range, just at a scale suited to smaller or multiple installations.

How many should I hang together?
Groups of three or five at varying heights are common above a table or island, though it also works well as a single pendant over a smaller surface.

Is it heavy to hang in a group?
No. Each glass shade weighs around 1kg, which is light enough for most standard ceiling fixings to support several at once, though we still recommend a qualified electrician confirms the fixing point.

Does it come with a bulb?
No, it takes a single E14 LED bulb, 5W, around 500 lumens, sold separately.
