Low Voltage Lights
Low voltage lighting runs at 12V or 24V rather than mains 230V, stepped down through a separate LED driver or transformer. Because the exposed cable and fittings never carry mains voltage, it is a safer choice for damp garden ground, decking, driveways and anywhere a DIY installer is running the cable themselves. Halogen low voltage fittings have now largely been replaced by LED versions, which use a fraction of the power and last far longer. Our range spans outdoor wall lights, drive over lights for driveways and paths, and indoor ceiling and downlight options, all designed to run from a compatible driver. Find the right outdoor driver or transformer and spare lamps in our lighting accessories collection.

Historically exterior lighting was always mains voltage (230v) however over the last 15 years there has been a massive shift to low voltage garden lights.
Low voltage garden lighting started with Halogen lights and in recent years, LEDs are now the light source to choose.
Low voltage means there's a transmitter or LED driver and the electricity is being transformed therefore the 230 volts (UK) is being brought down to 24 or 12 volts.
