A Pure LED lawn light with seven powder coat finish options
The Hunza Pure LED Lawn Light in powder coat sits flush in turf and throws a narrow column of light straight up rather than spreading sideways, with the LED built into the fitting rather than fitted as a separate lamp. The powder coated aluminium body means you can match or contrast it with paving, planting or brickwork rather than being limited to a metal tone.
Powder coated aluminium, several colours
The whole fitting, flange included, is powder coated aluminium rather than bronze or steel. Hunza offers this finish in black, white, grey, silver, green, brown and bronze, with swatches available on request since colours on screen are only ever a guide. It's a lighter duty finish than the bronze or stainless versions: the powder coat will chip if the fitting is regularly mown over, or if the ground has high soil acidity, salt content or heavy fertiliser use.
How it works
Pure LED fittings use a Cree LED chip built into the fitting rather than a separate replaceable lamp, rated at 600 lumens from 6 watts with a CRI of 90 or higher. It's available with a choice of beam angle, 15, 25, 38 or 60 degrees, and colour temperature, from a warm 2200K up to a cooler 4000K, so it's worth deciding on both before you order. The recessed body is 96mm in diameter and 86mm long, set into a 152mm flange with a matching 96mm cut out.
Because the LED is integrated, there's no separate bulb to buy, but the fitting must be wired in series with a Hunza remote driver, sold separately, rather than a parallel transformer. It's dimmable if a suitable dimmable driver is used. If mown over, this powder coated finish will chip; the solid bronze, cast solid bronze or stainless steel Pure LED versions hold up better in that situation.
Where it works best
Suited to borders, beds and lightly used lawn areas where colour matching matters more than resistance to mowing or salt, and where an integrated LED light source suits the project better than a replaceable halogen lamp.
Our experience with Hunza
Moonlight Design has specified Hunza Lawn Lights since we were founded in 2003, and we regularly recommend this powder coated Pure LED version when a client wants the fitting to disappear into a colour scheme.
Good to know
- Made to order: usually ships within 2 to 3 days. If temporarily out of stock, allow 3 to 5 weeks.
- Returns: this fitting can be returned within 14 days of delivery if unused, uninstalled and in original packaging.
- Integrated Cree LED chip, no separate bulb to buy, but the chip is serviceable.
- Requires a Hunza remote driver, sold separately, wired in series rather than parallel.
- Choose your beam angle (15, 25, 38 or 60 degrees) and colour temperature (2200K to 4000K) at the point of order.
- Rated IP68, but not intended for use in pools or ponds.
- Available in black, white, grey, silver, green, brown or bronze powder coat; swatches available on request.
- If the area is mown over, or has high soil acidity, salt content or fertiliser, choose the solid bronze, cast solid bronze or stainless steel version instead.
- We recommend installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Questions People Ask
What colours does this come in?
Black, white, grey, silver, green, brown and bronze powder coat. Swatches are available on request since screen colours are only a guide.
Can this be mown over?
Not reliably. The powder coat finish will chip if it's regularly mown over or if the ground has high soil acidity, salt content or heavy fertiliser use. The solid bronze, cast solid bronze or stainless steel Pure LED versions are the better choice in that situation.
Does this need a transformer?
No. Pure LED fittings need a Hunza remote driver instead, wired in series rather than the parallel transformer setup used on the halogen version.
What's the warranty on this finish?
Five years, which is shorter than the ten year warranty on the bronze and stainless steel Pure LED versions.
Can I choose the colour temperature?
Yes, from a warm 2200K up to a cooler 4000K, along with a choice of beam angle, but these are set when you order rather than adjustable afterwards.
