The Hunza Pure LED Spike Spot Adjustable mounts on a ground spike rather than a wall bracket, pushing straight into a border, lawn edge or planting bed. The head tilts and rotates to aim the beam, built around a dedicated LED light engine rather than a separate lamp. This version comes in Hunza's powder coated aluminium finish.

The powder coated finish

Colour is baked onto the aluminium rather than sprayed on, in seven options: Black, Dark Grey, White, Birch, Bronze, Olive Green and Silver Star. Black and Bronze are Hunza's standard shades; the rest are made to order, and colours are for indication only, with swatches available on request.

How it works

This isn't a fitting that takes a replaceable MR16 or GU10 lamp. Instead, a Cree LED chip is built into the fitting itself, delivering 600 lumens at 6 watts with a CRI of 90+ at 3000K. Hunza treats the chip as a serviceable part rather than sealed for life, though it isn't something you buy off the shelf and swap yourself. Choose colour temperature, beam angle and lens when ordering: 2200K, 2700K, 3000K or 4000K, 15, 25, 38 or 60 degrees, clear or frosted. It measures 62.5mm across the head, 74mm along the body, with a 200mm spike and 1m of cable supplied. Being low voltage, it needs a suitable LED driver rather than a standard transformer, and this range is wired in series, so your electrician will need to plan the circuit accordingly. It can be dimmed if a suitable dimmable driver is used.

Where it works best

Good anywhere you want a single point of light without a wall to fix to: freestanding trees, island beds, statues, or a path through open lawn, and worth choosing where you want the fitting's colour to match the surrounding planting or hard landscaping.

Questions People Ask

Can I replace the LED myself if it fails? Not in the way you'd swap a standard MR16 lamp. The Cree LED chip is built into the fitting and is a serviceable part rather than an off the shelf bulb, so a repair would go through Hunza or a qualified electrician.

Which colours can I actually return if I change my mind? Only Matt Black and Matt Bronze are returnable within 14 days if unused and in original packaging. Matt Olive Green, Matt White, Matt White Birch, Matt Dark Grey and Matt Silver Star are made to order and non-returnable, so we'd suggest requesting a swatch first.

Does this need a transformer? It needs a suitable LED driver rather than a standard transformer, and the fittings are wired in series, so it's worth having your electrician confirm the circuit design before installation.
