LuxR Modux 2 Spike Spot with Snoot - Powder Coat - Low Voltage

A Powder Coated Spike Spot with a Snoot, in Four Colours

The LuxR Modux 2 Spike Spot with Snoot is a very small low voltage outdoor spotlight on a solid 175mm spike that pushes into garden soil. The snoot is fitted on the front of the head, which makes the body 115mm long and 41mm across.

UV Powder Coated Aluminium

This version is made from aluminium with a UV powder coat, so you can match the fitting to your fencing, planters or hard landscaping rather than choosing a bare metal. It comes in Matt Black, Matt Bronze, Matt White and Matt Dark Grey. The light source is a 2 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus, so plants and stonework look true to colour.

Choose Your Colour, Beam and Lens

• Powder coat colour: Matt Black blends into planting at night, Matt Bronze is a softer warm tone, and Matt White and Matt Dark Grey suit lighter or cooler schemes.
• Beam: 26º is the narrowest beam and picks out a single feature, 36º is a little wider, and 74º spreads the light across a broader area.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.

How It Works

Push the spike into the soil and angle the head towards your subject. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Use it where you want a coloured fitting that blends with its surroundings, such as beside a painted fence, in a planter or in a border with dark mulch. Moonlight Design uses LuxR fittings in its own garden lighting designs and installations. The same design is also available in M4.
