A Ground Light Built to Be Walked On
The GL019 Mini is a small recessed ground light designed to sit flush in paving, decking or gravel and take genuine foot traffic without complaint. It lights the way along a path or marks the edge of a step or patio, sitting almost invisible in daylight and glowing quietly once the sun goes down.
Finished in Black
This version is finished in black, a quieter option than plain steel when it's set into dark paving, slate or gravel. The body is 316 grade stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion outdoors and by the coast. You can choose a 12 degree spot for a tight, focused pool of light or a wider 38 degree flood if you want the beam to spread further across the surface it sits in.
How It Works
- Runs at 1W when driven at 350mA or 2W at 700mA, so output can be tuned to the driver you pair it with.
- Available in 2700K, 3000K or 4000K white light, plus a blue option for coloured accent lighting.
- CRI of 80, giving a reasonably true rendering of colour for a light this size.
- Low voltage and Class III, so it always needs a separate driver. It's never connected directly to mains.
- Wired in series, which means several GL019 units can run from a single shared driver rather than each needing its own.
- Comes with a 1m flying lead ready to connect into your wiring run.
- Dimmable when paired with a suitable low voltage driver.
Where It Works Best
This is a light for the parts of a garden that get walked on. Think a run of paving stones, a timber deck, a gravel path or the edge of a driveway, anywhere you want a low, even glow rather than a visible fitting standing above ground. Because it's fully sealed and impact rated, it also holds up well in coastal gardens and anywhere it might sit under standing water after heavy rain.
About Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. The brand states it was among the first to bring fire rated, fully sealed and mains dimmable LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, a track record that shows in fittings like this one, built to be buried in the ground and forgotten about. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
Does the GL019 come with its own driver?
No. It's a low voltage, Class III fitting, so it needs a separate low voltage driver, chosen to suit the number of lights and the total wattage on that circuit.
What's the difference between the 12 degree and 38 degree versions?
The 12 degree option throws a tighter, more focused spot of light, while the 38 degree flood spreads the light over a wider area, better suited to lighting a broader section of paving or decking.
Can I really walk over it?
Yes. It's designed as a walk over fitting and is IK07 impact rated, so regular foot traffic across paving or decking is within what it's built for.
Can more than one GL019 run from the same driver?
Yes. It's wired in series, so multiple units can share a single driver as long as the driver's total wattage covers all the fittings connected to it.
Is it suitable for a coastal garden?
It's made from 316 grade stainless steel, which is the grade generally chosen for better resistance to salt air and coastal corrosion.
