A Clean Sleeve for Ground Light Installations
Setting a ground light straight into concrete, soil or sand can leave the fitting sitting loose in a rough hole, with no proper edge to seal against or line up with. This installation tube solves that by giving the fitting a rigid sleeve to sit in instead, so the finished job looks neat and the light stays properly supported once it's set in place.
Black Anodised Aluminium, 72mm Diameter
This is the 72mm diameter version, made from black anodised aluminium. It weighs just 0.1kg, so it's easy to handle and position before the surrounding concrete, soil or sand goes in around it. A hole is already cut into the side of the tube for the cable to pass through, so there's no drilling or cutting needed on site before you fit it.
How It Works
The tube sits in the ground first, acting as a permanent sleeve that the ground light fitting then drops into. Because the cable hole is already cut, you route the supply cable through the side of the tube as you set it, rather than trying to feed it underneath the fitting afterwards. Once the surrounding material is packed around the tube, the ground light sits square and supported inside it, rather than resting directly against loose soil or wet concrete.
Where It Works Best
This tube is designed for installations where a Collingwood ground light is being recessed into a hard or soft surface, patios, driveways, garden paths and lawn edges among them. It's worth checking Collingwood's compatible fittings list before ordering, since the range comes in a few different tube sizes and this one is sized specifically for 72mm diameter fittings. Getting that match right at the planning stage saves having to dig a fitting back out later.
Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. Accessories like this installation tube are part of how the brand supports its ground light range as a complete, properly planned system rather than a fitting sold on its own. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
What is this tube actually for?
It's a mounting sleeve that goes into the ground first, giving a Collingwood ground light a rigid, properly aligned housing to sit in once it's recessed into concrete, soil or sand.
Will this fit any Collingwood ground light?
No. It's sized for fittings with a 72mm diameter, and Collingwood's ground light range uses more than one tube size, so it's worth checking the compatible fittings list before ordering.
Do I need to cut a hole for the cable myself?
No. The cable entry hole is already cut into the side of the tube, so the supply cable can be routed through as the tube is set in place.
Can this be set into soil or sand as well as concrete?
Yes. The tube is designed to work as a sleeve in concrete, soil or sand, giving the fitting the same rigid support in any of those surfaces.
What's it made from?
Black anodised aluminium, which weighs very little at just 0.1kg but still gives the fitting a solid, permanent housing once installed.
