Most pendant lights hide their hardware behind a shade. The Heavy Metal Cross doesn't bother hiding anything. Its body is machined from solid metal and cut with Buster + Punch's diamond faceted cross knurl pattern, so the fixture itself catches light before a bulb is ever switched on.

This pendant comes in Black, Brass, Steel or Smoked Bronze. Black keeps the knurl pattern moody and understated, Brass and Smoked Bronze bring warmth and shine for period or characterful interiors, and Steel gives a cooler, more contemporary edge. All four share the same matte black rubber cord and ceiling rose, so the metal finish does all the talking.

How It Works

The pendant takes a single E27 bulb, up to 40W, rated IP20 and built for 220 to 240V supply, bulb not included. The rubber cord runs 3000mm and is fully adjustable, either tucked back into the cavity behind the ceiling rose or cut to length by a qualified electrician.

Buster + Punch was registered as a company in 2013, but the ideas behind it took shape years earlier in a garage in Shoreditch, where founder Massimo Buster Minale spent his evenings stripping down and rebuilding motorbikes. He had trained as an architect and worked on major schemes with practices like Foster and Partners and Richard Rogers, and he brought that same structural precision to something as small as a knurled metal pendant.
