Most bulbs are built to hide, tucked behind a shade so nobody has to look at the thing itself. The Buster Bulb was designed to be seen. A slim resin light pipe runs through the centre in a warm Crystal tone, throwing a soft ambient glow around the room while still casting a focused pool of light onto the table or surface below it.

Choose Your Finish

This is the Crystal finish, the clearest and brightest of the three tones in the range. Gold leans warmer and dimmer for a moodier feel, while Smoked pulls the light down further still for a darker, more subdued glow. All three share the same shape and fitting, so the choice comes down to how much light and warmth you want the bulb itself to add to the room.

How It Works

This is the non-dimmable 2W LED version, built for standard on and off switches rather than a dimmer circuit. It runs on a 100 to 240V AC supply, gives out 115 lumens with a CRI of 83, and is rated for around 35,000 hours of use. The body is a robust polycarbonate rather than glass, so it takes the odd knock better than a traditional filament bulb would.

Where It Works Best

Fit it into any standard E27 screw fitting, though it was designed to sit alongside the Heavy Metal and Hooked ranges in particular, where the bulb itself is meant to be part of the fixture's look rather than hidden inside a shade. If your fitting is wired to a dimmer switch, choose the Dimmable Crystal Buster Bulb instead. This non-dimmable version paired with a dimmer will simply run at full brightness with no dimming effect.

Long before Buster + Punch made a single bulb, founder Massimo Buster Minale was an architect moonlighting as a motorbike builder in a garage in Shoreditch, and the brand grew out of that same instinct to take something ordinary and make it worth a second look. The Buster Bulb was pitched at launch as the world's first designer LED bulb, and the idea hasn't really changed since: even the parts nobody usually notices should earn their place on show.
