A Ten Light Chandelier With Genuine Texture
The Armstrong Linear threads ten hand blown glass globes along a solid brass bar, staggering the drop of each so the whole fitting reads as one continuous sculptural line rather than ten separate pendants. In Dries Ribbon glass, that line becomes genuinely textural, each globe drawn through with fine internal threads that catch and scatter the light rather than simply glowing.
In Dries Ribbon Glass
Dries Ribbon is a borosilicate glass worked with delicate drawn threads through the body of each globe, so light passing through is broken up into fine, intricate shadows rather than a smooth, even glow. Across ten globes on the Linear bar, this is the most characterful and visually complex of Schwung's three glass options, giving the chandelier a handmade, artisanal quality that changes depending on the angle it's viewed from.
Choose Your Finish
The brass bar is available in three finishes: Black Gunmetal, a darker frame that lets the Ribbon glass's texture stand out, Lacquered Burnished Brass, a warm aged tone under a clear protective lacquer, and Polished Nickel, a cooler, more reflective alternative.
How It Works
Ten integrated LED globes run at 4 to 5W each on an E14/E12 base, for a combined output of around 2200 lumens at a warm white 2200 to 3000K. Dimming requires a compatible electronic dimmer using ELV or trailing edge technology. The fitting carries an IP20 rating, for dry indoor spaces only. The brass bar spans 1635mm wide by 768mm deep, with globes hung at staggered drops; three extension rods (150mm, 300mm and 450mm) are included to adjust the overall drop, and the canopy is compatible with flat or vaulted ceilings. Complete weight is 18.6kg.
Where It Works Best
The strength of the Dries Ribbon texture makes this version of the Linear 10 best suited to a room where the fitting itself is meant to be a talking point, above a dining table in a room with otherwise simple finishes, or over a kitchen island where the shifting shadow patterns can be appreciated at close range in the evening.
Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. According to Schwung, the Dries Ribbon technique is one of the more demanding glass processes in their range, with each globe hand-drawn and mouth-blown at the Namyslow workshop alongside the hand-finished brass bar.

Questions People Ask
What does Dries Ribbon glass actually look like?
Each globe has fine internal threads drawn through the glass, which break up the light into intricate shifting shadows rather than the smooth, even glow of opal glass.
Can the Armstrong Linear 10 be dimmed?
Yes, but only with a compatible electronic dimmer using ELV or trailing edge technology; standard leading edge dimmers are not compatible.
Is this chandelier suitable for a bathroom?
No, it has an IP20 rating, so it should only be installed in dry indoor rooms.
