The Armstrong 4L is the compact, directional member of the Armstrong wall sconce family, its four globes sweeping left from a central brass plate. In Marble glass, each globe carries a delicate, veined interior that catches the light unevenly, giving this small fitting a depth and richness the plainer glass options do not have.

Marble glass is hand-blown with a soft milky texture running through the glass, so light passes through unevenly and each globe glows with its own faint pattern. No two spheres look quite the same, which gives the Armstrong 4L a handmade quality that suits more considered, layered interiors.

Choose Your Finish

Available in Lacquered Burnished Brass, Black Gunmetal, or Polished Nickel, the brass frame can be chosen to sit warm or cool against the Marble glass depending on the rest of the room's material palette.

How It Works

Four E14 LED bulbs are included, 5W each, with the option to fit dimmable bulbs if you want the light on a dimmer circuit. It measures approximately 92.2cm high by 35.2cm wide by 33.1cm deep and weighs around 9kg. This is a wall-mounted fitting only. It is made to order in Poland, typically within 4 to 6 weeks.

Where It Works Best

The Marble glass's warmth and texture suit bedrooms, dressing rooms, and living rooms with natural materials nearby, stone, plaster, or timber. Mount the 4L on its own to the left of a feature, or pair it with the matching 4R for a symmetrical installation either side of a bed head or fireplace.

Made by Schwung

Founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen, Schwung makes every fitting to order from solid brass and mouth blown glass. According to Schwung, Marble is one of three signature glass textures the studio developed to give its structural brass frames different characters of light.

How does the 4L differ from the 4R in Marble glass?
The 4L's globes sweep to the left of the wall plate; the 4R is a mirror image with the globes sweeping right, designed so the two can flank a doorway, bed, or fireplace symmetrically.

Will the veining in the glass look the same on every unit?
No, each globe is individually hand blown, so the Marble pattern varies slightly from one globe to the next.

Can it be dimmed?
Yes, with dimmable LED bulbs fitted and a compatible dimmer circuit.
