Hunza Pure LED Spike Spot Stainless Ground Light

A fixed spotlight with the LED built in, in a finish that holds its look

The Hunza Pure LED Spike Spot Non-Adjustable is a ground spike spotlight that pushes straight into a border, lawn edge or planting bed. The head is fixed rather than adjustable, and the LED is built into the fitting rather than supplied as a separate lamp. This version is solid 316 stainless steel and runs on low voltage.

The stainless steel finish

316 grade stainless steel is the marine specification Hunza uses across its solid metal range. Our own photographs of this fitting show a consistent brushed finish over the whole body and spike. Hunza notes it may develop a light surface tarnish in some conditions, which washing resolves, and it keeps roughly the same tone over the years rather than darkening the way copper does.

How it works

You push the 145mm spike into the ground and angle the body where you want the light to fall, and because there's no moving head, there's less that can work loose later. The LED sits inside the fitting rather than as a replaceable lamp, with parts Hunza describes as serviceable. The fitting is 63.5mm in diameter and 75mm long. At the point of ordering you choose colour temperature (2200K, 2700K, 3000K or 4000K), beam angle (15, 25, 38 or 60 degrees) and lens (clear or frosted), and it needs a driver and transformer, sold separately, as this is a low voltage fitting.

Where it works best

Good anywhere you want a single point of accent light and already know exactly where it needs to be aimed: a fixed feature or a spot where the planting around it isn't going to change much year to year, particularly where you want a finish that won't change tone over the years.

Questions People Ask

Will the stainless steel discolour outdoors?
It can develop a light surface tarnish in some conditions, particularly near the coast, but Hunza says regular washing keeps this in check.

Can the LED be replaced if it fails?
It isn't a separate lamp, but Hunza describes the internal parts as serviceable, so a fault doesn't necessarily mean replacing the whole fitting.

Does it need a transformer?
Yes, this is a low voltage fitting, so it needs a driver and transformer to run it, sold separately.

Can the head be pointed in a different direction once installed?
No, this is the fixed head version. Hunza also makes an adjustable Spike Spot if you need to change the aim later.
