A Compact Ground Light Built for Traffic
This is the smallest fitting in Collingwood's tilt adjustable ground light range, needing a cut out of just 118.5mm, yet it still takes a 2000kg static load and can be driven over at up to 15mph. The head tilts up to 25 degrees so you can angle the beam onto a wall or feature without losing that drive over strength, and the TRIAC dimmable driver is built into the fitting rather than sold as a separate box.
Stainless Steel Bezel, Anodised Aluminium Body
The visible bezel is 316 stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion, and it sits around a body made from anodised aluminium. Between them they give the fitting a clean, coin like face at ground level with a body that can handle repeated exposure to rain, grit and road salt without corroding.
How It Works
The fitting wires straight to mains and arrives with a 1 metre pre wired cable ready to connect, so there is no separate driver to source or fit elsewhere in the circuit. Because the dimmable driver sits inside the unit, it works on a compatible TRIAC mains dimmer switch on its own. It runs at 6W and produces 450 lumens of 3000K warm white light with a beam angle of around 34 degrees, and the wiring is designed to be run in parallel where more than one fitting sits on the same circuit. Fitting into a 118.5mm cut out, it is IP67 rated, so it is also suitable for bathroom zone 2 locations. Read Moonlight's guide to bathroom lighting zones before planning a wet room or bathroom installation.
Where It Works Best
Its drive over rating makes it a genuine option for driveways, not just paths, and the same fitting works just as well recessed into a patio, a garden walkway or a stepped entrance where feet as well as tyres will pass over it. The IP67 rating and stainless steel bezel also make it a sensible choice for coastal properties, where salt air is harder on fittings left exposed to the elements.

Good to Know
- Backed by a 5 year warranty from Collingwood.
- Rated IP67, meaning it is fully dust tight and protected against temporary immersion in water, and IK08 rated against impact.
- Electrical Class I, so it must be properly earthed as part of the installation.
- TRIAC mains dimmable driver is built in, but dimming performance still depends on using a genuinely compatible dimmer switch.
- Wiring is designed for parallel connection where several ground lights share one circuit.
- Wipe the stainless steel bezel with a soft, damp cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners that could dull the finish.
- Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
