A Ground Light That Throws Light Two Ways at Once
The GL100 is a mini domed ground light that sits flush with the surface once it's recessed in, so by day it barely registers as a fitting. Cut into its brushed dome are two facets, angled to send light out in two opposite directions from a single point, useful anywhere you want to mark both edges of a path or step without fitting two separate lights.
The Stainless Steel 316 Version
This version is built in 316 stainless steel, the marine grade used where salt air, rain and frost would corrode a lesser metal over time. The Collingwood name and its "316" mark are etched into the brushed cylindrical body, and the domed cap has a soft, rounded profile rather than a sharp edge, so it sits comfortably underfoot.
How It Works
The GL100 runs at 1W on a 350mA driver or 2W on a 700mA driver, giving roughly 6 lumens at the lower setting and 10 to 12 lumens at the higher one. It comes in 2700K, 3000K or 4000K, with an 80 CRI and a 75 degree beam angle from each facet, spreading a soft, diffused glow rather than a hard spot. It's a low voltage fitting wired in series, so it needs a separate driver, which isn't included, and it can be dimmed with a suitable dimmable driver. Because the output is modest by design, these are normally run as a series of several fittings along a route rather than used singly, and JB2, JB4 or JB6 waterproof connectors, sold separately, are needed to wire them together.
Where It Works Best
With an IP68 rating, submersible to 9 metres, plus IK07 impact resistance, this is built to sit somewhere genuinely wet and be walked straight over. It suits garden paths, steps, decking and patios, and its submersible rating makes it a sound choice for pond edges or areas that flood after heavy rain. The 40mm diameter and 46mm depth, with a 33mm cut out, mean it fits into fairly shallow spaces below the surface, including thinner decking boards.
Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. The brand states it was among the first to bring fully sealed, waterproof for life LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, an approach that shows up directly in a fitting rated to sit fully submerged and still work. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
What does the two facet design actually do?
The two facets are angled to send light in two opposite directions from a single fitting, so one ground light can mark both sides of a path or step instead of needing two separate fittings.
Do I need a driver for this light?
Yes. It's a low voltage fitting and needs a separate driver, which isn't included, chosen to match either the 350mA or 700mA current for the light output you want.
Can this be submerged in water?
Yes. It's rated IP68 and submersible to 9 metres, making it suitable for pond edges or areas prone to standing water.
Can I walk over this ground light once it's installed?
Yes. It carries IK07 impact resistance and is genuinely rated to be walked over once recessed into the surface.
What connectors do I need to wire it in?
JB2, JB4 or JB6 waterproof connectors are needed to wire the GL100 into a run, and these are sold separately.
