A Ground Light You Can Actually Walk Over
The GL019 LG is a small, round ground light designed to sit flush in decking, paving or lawn and take foot traffic without complaint. A honeycomb baffle sits behind the lens, cutting the glare that would otherwise catch your eye from the side or from directly above, so it lights the ground around it rather than dazzling anyone walking past or looking down.
Marine Grade Stainless Steel
This version is built in 316 stainless steel, the marine grade used where a fitting needs to shrug off rain, frost and salt air without corroding. The bezel has a brushed finish with the Collingwood name and logo etched into the ring, and the honeycomb lens sits just below the surface, protected by a 5mm toughened glass cover.
How It Works
Behind the lens is a 1W LED module available in 2700K, 3000K or 4000K, so you can match it to warm or cooler lighting used elsewhere in the garden. It comes with a choice of a narrow 12° spot beam or a wider 30° flood beam, giving you control over whether the light stays tight to one spot or spreads across a wider patch of ground. It runs on low voltage and needs a separate driver, wired in series with any other fittings sharing the same circuit, rather than working as a standalone mains fitting.
Where It Works Best
With an IP68 rating and IK07 impact resistance, this is a fitting made to be recessed into surfaces people and vehicles cross, not just splashed on. It suits garden paths and driveways, patios and decking, and pond or water feature surrounds where a submersible rating matters. The shallow 41mm body and 33mm cut out mean it can go into locations with limited depth below the surface, such as thinner decking boards, without needing to build up the ground around it.
Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. The brand states it was among the first to bring fully sealed, waterproof for life LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, an approach that shows up directly in a fitting like this one, built to sit underground and stay watertight for years. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
Can I walk on this ground light?
Yes. It's rated IP68 with IK07 impact resistance, and it's specifically designed to be walked over once it's recessed into decking, paving or a lawn.
Does it need a transformer or driver?
Yes. The GL019 LG runs on low voltage and needs a separate driver, wired in series with any other fittings on the same circuit.
What's the difference between the spot and flood versions?
The spot version has a 12° beam that stays tight and focused, while the flood version spreads light across a wider 30° angle. Choose spot for a defined point of light and flood for a softer, broader wash.
Can it be used near or in water, such as around a pond?
Its IP68 rating means it's built to resist prolonged contact with water, which makes it suitable for pond surrounds and similarly damp locations, though it should still be installed and wired by a qualified electrician.
How deep does it need to be recessed?
The body is 41mm deep with a 33mm cut out, so it needs a fairly shallow space below the surface, useful where decking or paving doesn't leave much room underneath.
