Twenty One Globes, Rolling and Layered
Twenty one glass globes, in two sizes, cluster around a linear brass frame in a rolling, layered formation that has genuine presence in a large room. In opal mat glass, the Glow 21 is the most liveable version of this chandelier, each globe fully diffusing its light into a soft, even glow rather than a scatter of individual points, so the twenty one globes together read as one continuous, warm field of light rather than twenty one separate bulbs.
Opal Mat Glass, Warmth Without Glare
Opal mat is Schwung's most versatile signature glass, fully diffusing the light from each globe into an even, glareless wash rather than letting the bulb show through. Across twenty one globes, that diffusion adds up to a genuinely enveloping ambient light, suited to interiors where the chandelier needs to work as a functional light source as much as a piece of sculpture.
Choose Your Finish
The linear brass frame is available in Black Gunmetal, Lacquered Burnished Brass, or Polished Nickel, so the metal tone can be chosen to sit with the room's existing brass and metalwork or to stand in deliberate contrast to it.
How It Works
The Glow 21 takes 21 x 5W LED bulbs (E14/E12 base, included), together producing between 9,450 and 10,500 lumens at a warm 3000K, for a total of 105W. It is dimmable, but only with electronic ELV or trailing edge dimmers. The frame measures 805mm in diameter and is made up of 12 globes at 200mm diameter and 9 globes at 150mm diameter. Fixing rods are supplied to set the drop between 1,131mm and 1,881mm on a fixed ceiling, or 1,081mm to 1,981mm on a vaulted one, and the fully assembled fitting weighs approximately 30kg. The fitting is rated IP20, so it is intended for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms. All rods and bulbs are included.
Where It Works Best
A large dining room, a double height entrance hall, or an open plan living space where a single fitting needs to set the tone for the whole room. Because the opal glass diffuses light evenly rather than casting sharp shadows, it suits a broad range of interior styles, from contemporary to more traditional settings, and works as well as a primary light source as it does a centrepiece.
Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. Every Glow 21 is made to order in solid brass and hand blown glass at the brand's Namyslow workshop, with each globe blown individually so slight variation between one and the next is normal rather than a flaw.

Questions People Ask
How much ceiling height do I need for this chandelier?
With the shortest rods fitted, the drop starts at 1,131mm on a standard fixed ceiling, so it is worth measuring carefully against your ceiling height and the surface below before ordering.
Is the Glow 21 suitable for a bathroom?
No, it is rated IP20, which means it is intended for dry indoor rooms only, not bathrooms or other areas exposed to moisture.
What is the difference between the opal mat and other Glow 21 glass options?
Opal mat fully diffuses the light into an even glow, while the marble and Dries Ribbon versions let more of the internal texture and pattern of the glass show through as the light passes through it.
