The Schwung Globe Dual Wall Sconce pairs two glass globes on a single brass wall fitting. In Dries Ribbon glass, this is the most detailed and textured version of the three, with fine drawn threads inside each globe that catch the light and throw it back out in intricate, broken patterns rather than a plain glow.

In Dries Ribbon Glass

Dries Ribbon glass is mouth blown around delicate internal threads of glass, so the light is refracted into fine, fragmented shadows rather than diffused evenly. It's the most artisanal and characterful of Schwung's three glass types, with more visible texture and movement in the light than either opal mat or marble glass.

Choose Your Finish

The brass frame comes in lacquered burnished brass, black gunmetal, or polished nickel. Brass and gunmetal both warm the light further, while polished nickel keeps the tone cooler and lets the ribbon detailing read more clearly.

How It Works

Each fitting takes two E14 LED bulbs, 5W each, 10W in total, and is compatible with dimmable bulbs. It measures approximately 92cm in height and projects around 33cm from the wall, with an overall width of about 15cm, and each globe measures roughly 15cm in diameter. It weighs approximately 2.6kg, and the two bulbs are included.

Where It Works Best

Dries Ribbon glass suits spaces where the lighting is meant to be noticed, entrance halls, dining rooms, or as a pair flanking a fireplace or bed. Because the shadow pattern is more pronounced than with opal mat or marble glass, it works best where there's a plain wall nearby to catch the refracted light.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. Every fitting is made to order in solid brass and mouth blown glass at the brand's Namyslow workshop. According to Schwung, the ribbon threads are drawn into the glass by hand during the blowing process, making Dries Ribbon the most labour intensive of the three glass types to produce.

Is Dries Ribbon glass harder to keep clean than the other options?
No, it's cleaned the same way as opal mat or marble glass, a soft dry cloth for regular dusting and a damp cloth first if it needs more attention.

Does the ribbon pattern block much light?
No, it refracts the light rather than blocking it, so you still get a good level of light, just with more texture and shadow detail than a plain diffused glass.
