A Small Wall Light With Genuine Texture
The Armstrong Triple arranges three hand blown glass globes along a slender brass spine projecting from the wall, each globe on its own short rod so the fitting reads as a considered cluster rather than a standard wall light. In Dries Ribbon glass, this is the most textural and characterful of the three glass options, each globe drawn through with fine internal threads that catch the light rather than diffusing it evenly.
In Dries Ribbon Glass
Dries Ribbon is a borosilicate glass worked with delicate drawn threads through the body of each globe, breaking the light into fine, shifting shadows on the surrounding wall rather than a smooth, even glow. Across the Triple's three globes, this gives the fitting a genuinely handmade, artisanal quality that changes depending on the angle and time of day.
Choose Your Finish
The brass spine and wall plate are available in three finishes: Black Gunmetal, a darker frame that lets the Ribbon texture stand out, Lacquered Burnished Brass, a warm aged tone under a clear protective lacquer, and Polished Nickel, a cooler, more reflective alternative.
How It Works
Three integrated LED globes run at 5W each on an E14/E12 base, for a combined output of around 1350 to 1500 lumens at a warm white 3000K. Dimming requires a compatible electronic dimmer using ELV or trailing edge technology. The fitting carries an IP20 rating, for dry indoor spaces only. It projects 331mm from the wall and stands 637mm tall, with a circular wall plate 125mm in diameter, and weighs 2.6kg complete.
Where It Works Best
The strength of the Ribbon texture suits rooms where handcrafted detail is part of the brief, above a console in an entrance hall, beside a bed where the shadow pattern is visible up close, or repeated along a corridor where the shifting light adds genuine character rather than simply illuminating the space.
Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. According to Schwung, the Dries Ribbon technique is one of the more demanding processes in their glass range, with each globe hand drawn and mouth blown at the Namyslow workshop alongside the hand finished brass spine.
