The Armstrong 10 Light fans ten glass globes out from a central brass spine, and in Marble glass each one carries a soft, veined interior pattern rather than a flat, uniform surface. The effect is a light fitting that looks different depending on whether it is lit or not, and different again depending on where you stand.

In Marble Glass

Marble glass is hand blown with a fine internal texture that reads almost like natural stone once the bulb inside is lit, a milky, softly clouded pattern rather than a single even tone. No two globes come out quite identical, so the fitting has a handmade depth that plain opal glass does not offer, while still staying gentler and less textured than Dries Ribbon.

Choose Your Finish

The brass frame comes in Lacquered Burnished Brass, Black Gunmetal, or Polished Nickel. The warmer brass tones tend to sit well with the Marble glass's mineral quality, while Polished Nickel gives the same fitting a cleaner, more graphic edge.

How It Works

Ten E14 LED bulbs are included, 5W each, and dimmable bulbs can be fitted if you want to run the fitting from a dimmer. It weighs approximately 9.3kg. As with the rest of the Armstrong 10 range, it can be mounted flush to a ceiling or turned onto a wall as a wide sconce. It is made to order in Poland.

Where It Works Best

Marble glass suits rooms built from natural materials, stone floors, plastered walls, timber joinery, where its veined quality has other textures to talk to. It works particularly well over a dining table, in a stairwell, or as the anchor piece in a hallway with generous ceiling height.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen, with every fitting made to order from solid brass and mouth blown glass. According to Schwung, the Marble finish is one of three signature glass textures developed specifically to give the same brass structures a different personality.
