The Quiet Flood That Ties a Ceiling Together
The Curve Fixed is Orluna's answer to gentle, even light across a room. Its refined design has no sharp edges to catch the eye, letting it settle into the ceiling's texture rather than sit on top of it, so the light does the talking rather than the fitting.
Choosing Your Configuration
This is one of the more richly specified fittings in the Curve range, with real decisions to make at every stage.
- Driver: 0-10V Dimming, Dali, Mains Dimming or Non-Dimming. Dali suits architectural control systems, Mains Dimming pairs with conventional dimmer switches, and Non-Dimming is the simplest choice for fixed output.
- Engine: four options here. Origin (General Use) for everyday spaces, Origin Natural (Highest Quality) for the truest colour rendering, Origin Warm Dim for a tunable output that shifts between roughly 1800K and 3000K as it dims, echoing the warm dip of an incandescent lamp, and Origin loPro for installations where the ceiling void is too shallow for a standard engine.
- Colour temperature: fixed at 2700K or 3000K with the standard engines, or tunable across 1800K to 3000K if you specify Origin Warm Dim.
- Beam: an unusually wide spread of angles, from 19° up to 63°. The narrower end gives a more defined pool of light, while the widest angles deliver the soft, flood like wash this fitting is named for.
- IP rating: IP54 for dry interiors, IP65 where moisture resistance is needed.
- Bezel finish: supplied in white (RAL 9010) for a clean, unobtrusive ceiling line.
How It Works
Light is shaped by an optical grade reflector engineered for accurate, broad beam distribution with minimal distortion at the edges, while a die cast aluminium body acts as a heat sink, drawing warmth away from the LED to protect colour consistency and long term output. The bezel itself is designed without hard edges, so it reads as a soft, continuous curve into the ceiling rather than a hard cut ring.
Where It Works Best
As a fixed fitting with a 96mm bezel, the Curve Fixed is built for broad, even coverage rather than pinpoint aiming, ideal for lighting living spaces, hospitality lounges and retail floors where you want a consistent flood across the whole ceiling plane. It is also designed to be specified alongside its Curve siblings, the Mini, the Adjustable and the Recessed Fixed Darklighter, so a single scheme can mix fixed floods with adjustable accents and low glare fittings while keeping a matching aesthetic throughout.
Made By Orluna
Orluna fittings are engineered more like architectural components than conventional downlights. Housings and heat sinks are typically die cast or extruded aluminium, chosen because it draws heat away from the LED efficiently and protects both colour consistency and long term output. Much of the range, including the Curve, is modular, so bezels, reflectors and LED engines can be replaced individually, which is what underpins Orluna's 20 year spares, repair and reuse programme.
