A Small Oblong Recessed Downlight for Steps and Walls

The LuxR Modux V1 Oblong Recessed Down Light is a small low voltage light for indoor and outdoor settings. It is designed to be recessed low into a wall, where it projects an asymmetrical wash across steps. The profile is ultra discreet and the light is glare free, with a flange of just 81mm by 36mm.

Powder Coated Aluminium in Matt Colours

This version is precision machined from aluminium with a matt powder coat. Choose Matt Black, Matt Bronze or Matt White. The light source is a replaceable 1 watt Cree XPG-3 LED with a CRI of 90 plus.

Choose Your Colour, Colour Temperature and Fixing

• Colour: Matt Black, Matt Bronze or Matt White.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Fixing: coil springs for plasterboard, leaf springs without a canister for masonry or brickwork, or leaf springs with a canister for masonry or brickwork.

How It Works

The fitting recesses into the wall using the spring fixing you choose. It runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is included. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

It works well set low into a wall beside steps, where you want light on the treads without any glare. The coil spring option suits plasterboard walls, while the leaf spring options suit masonry and brickwork.

Which fixing should I choose?

Does it come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered NICEIC electrician installs it.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

No. All MV1 fittings are made to order and are therefore non returnable, so please check the size and options before ordering.

Can I change the LED later?
