The LuxR Micro Spike Spot is a miniature low voltage spotlight on a spike that pushes into the soil. The brand states it is ideal for planters, larger pots and lighting small trees. Simply plant it and aim it.

Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel

This version is precision machined in marine grade 316 stainless steel. It keeps a clean, bright finish and is made to handle wet weather and damp soil. The light source is a replaceable 1 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.

Choose Your Spike, Beam and Colour

• Spike length: 150mm suits pots and low borders, while 300mm raises the head in deeper planting.
• Beam: 16º is narrow for one feature, 37º is a medium spread, 84º is a broad wash, and oval is a flatter, wider shape.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.

How It Works

Push the spike into the soil and aim the head. It runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic is easy to change if you want a different beam width.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

It works well in pots, planters and borders where a larger spotlight would look out of scale. Use it on small trees and sculptural planting. The same design is available in the larger M2 and M4 sizes.

What beam angles are available?

You can choose 16º, 37º, 84º or oval. Narrower beams suit single features, wider beams suit larger plants and washes.

How long is the spike?

You can choose a 150mm or 300mm spike. They measure 160mm and 310mm overall, and are 12.7mm in diameter.

Does it come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

Should I pick stainless steel or copper?

Stainless steel keeps its bright finish, while copper slowly darkens with a natural patina. Choose whichever suits your planting and containers.
