A Tiny Stainless Steel Spike Light With a 180º Band of Light
The LuxR Micro Spike Diamond 180º is a miniature low voltage uplight on a spike that pushes into the soil. Its light is thrown in a 180º band, angled upwards, which makes it a good match for lighting one side of a shrub. The brand states it is ideal for shrubbery, planters and larger pots.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
This version is precision machined in marine grade 316 stainless steel. It keeps a clean, bright finish and is made to handle wet weather and damp soil. The light source is a replaceable 1 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Choose Your Spike and Colour
- Spike length: the 150mm spike suits pots and low borders, while the 300mm spike raises the head in deeper planting.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
Push the spike into the soil and turn the head so the 180º band faces the planting. It runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced, or swapped for a colour LED.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it at the edge of a border to light shrubs from the front, or place it in a big pot. If you want light on all sides, the 360º version is the better pick.

Should I pick the 180º or 360º version?
Choose 180º to light one side of a plant, and 360º to light all the way round.
Which spike length do I need?
Pick the 150mm spike for pots and low planting, and the 300mm spike for deeper beds. The spikes measure 160mm and 310mm overall.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Is stainless steel or copper better?
Stainless steel keeps its bright finish, while copper slowly darkens with a natural patina. Choose the one that suits your planting and containers.
