A Tiny Copper Spike Light With a 180º Band of Light
The LuxR Micro Spike Diamond 180º is a miniature low voltage uplight on a spike that pushes straight into the soil. It sends light out in a 180º band, angled upwards, so it fills one side of a shrub with light. The brand states it is ideal for shrubbery, planters and larger pots.
Copper That Weathers Naturally
This version is machined from copper. It starts warm and bright, then slowly develops a natural patina outdoors, so it disappears into planting and soil over time. The light source is a replaceable 1 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Choose Your Spike and Colour
- Spike length: the 150mm spike suits pots and low borders, and the 300mm spike lifts the head higher in deeper planting.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
Push the spike into the ground, then turn the head so the 180º band faces the planting. It runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced, or swapped for a colour LED.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Place it at the front of a border to light shrubs from one side, or tuck it into a large planter. Choose the 360º version if you want light on every side.

Questions People Ask
What is the difference between the 180º and 360º versions?
The 180º version throws light in a half circle, so it lights one side of a plant. The 360º version lights all the way round.
Which spike length should I choose?
The 150mm spike suits pots and low planting. The 300mm spike is better in deeper beds where you want the head higher. The spikes measure 160mm and 310mm overall.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Copper develops a natural patina outdoors, so it darkens and softens over time. This is normal.
