A Small Copper Square Recessed Spotlight
The LuxR Modux 4 Square Recessed is a small low voltage outdoor spotlight that sits flush in a surface with a neat square flange. The body is 41mm across and 62mm long, and the flange is 53mm wide and only 3mm deep.
Copper That Gains a Natural Patina
This version is precision machined from copper. It starts out warm and bright, then develops a natural patina outdoors, so the square flange gradually softens into paving, decking or a wall. The light source is a replaceable 4 watt Cree LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens
- Beam: 26º is the narrowest for a single feature, 36º suits a wider subject, and 74º is the widest for a broad spread of light.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
- Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.
How It Works
The body is set into a cut-out of 43.5mm with the square flange sitting at the surface. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it where you want a tidy square detail set into a wall, step riser or paved surface. It is also available in the M1 and M2.

What cut-out size do I need?
The cut-out is 43.5mm. The body is 41mm in diameter and 62mm long, and the square flange is 53mm wide.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Copper develops a natural patina outdoors over time, so the finish will soften and darken gradually. This is normal.
Which beam angle should I choose?

Can I change the LED later?
