LuxR Modux 4 Pillar Light Powder Coat

A Small Wall Mounted Light That Shines Up and Down, in Seven Colours

Despite its name, the LuxR Modux 4 Pillar Light is a small wall mounted fitting. It is a slim twin cylinder that fixes to the wall and lights up and down at the same time, so each beam grazes the wall above and below the fitting. It is 176mm high and only 40.6mm across, and the powder coat range lets it blend into the wall or stand out against it.

Powder Coated Aluminium

This version is made in aluminium with a UV stable polyester powder coat. It is available in matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Matt black is a deep, non reflective black, and matt bronze is a dark brown that suits timber, bark and earth. The light comes from two screw mounted 4 watt Cree LEDs, 8 watts in total, which the brand states delivers around 750 lumens with a CRI of 90+.

Choose Your Colour, Beam, Temperature and Lens

Colour: pick from the seven powder coat finishes.
Beam: 26º is a narrow beam that draws a tight line of light, 36º is a medium spread, and 74º is a wide wash.
Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a neutral white.
Lens: clear gives the crispest beam, and frosted softens the edges.

How It Works

The fitting fixes to the wall with a mounting plate held by two screws, and the light then fits onto the plate. It is a low voltage fitting that runs from a remote 700mA constant current driver, which is sold separately and not supplied with the light.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Use it beside a door, on a garden wall, beside a gate or on a terrace, wherever you want light to fall both up and down a wall surface. The darker finishes sit quietly against brick and timber, while the lighter ones suit pale stone and rendered walls. A snoot can be added if you want tighter control of the light.
