LuxR Modux 2 Wall Down Light Powder Coat

A Compact Wall Down Light in Seven Powder Coat Colours

The LuxR Modux 2 Wall Down Light is a small, discreet cylinder that fixes to the wall and sends a controlled beam of light down it. It is only 40.6mm across, so it highlights textured brick, render or stone, picks out steps and paths, and shows off architectural detail without drawing attention to itself.

Powder Coated Aluminium

This version is made in aluminium with a UV stable polyester Eco matt powder coat. It is available in matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Matt black is a deep, non reflective black, and matt bronze is a dark brown that suits timber, bark and earth. The light source is a screw mounted 2 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 175 lumens with a CRI of 90+.

Choose Your Colour, Beam, Temperature and Lens

Colour: pick from the seven powder coat finishes.
Beam: 26º is a narrow beam that draws a tight line of light down the wall, 36º is a medium spread, and 74º is a wide wash.
Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
Lens: clear glass gives the sharpest beam, and frosted glass softens its edges.

How It Works

The fitting fixes to the wall with a mounting plate. It runs on low voltage from a 700mA constant current driver, which is sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. The LED can be replaced later, so you can change the colour or the beam without buying a new fitting.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Choose a finish that matches the wall, the door or the window frames. The darker colours blend into brick and timber, while the lighter ones suit pale stone and rendered walls. Use it beside a door, along a garden wall, at the side of steps or on a terrace, wherever you want light to fall down a wall surface. A snoot can be added if you want tighter control of the light. Questions People Ask

What colours does the powder coat wall down light come in?

Seven finishes: matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Bronze is a dark brown.

Can I see a colour sample before I order?

Yes. Colours on screen are for guidance only, and physical colour swatches are available on request.

Which beam angle should I choose?

Choose 26º for a narrow stripe of light, 36º for a medium spread, and 74º for a broad wash across the wall.

Does the wall down light come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting that needs a suitable 700mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

How big is it?

The body is 75.8mm high and 40.6mm across, and it projects 46.3mm from the wall including the mounting plate.

Can I change the LED later?

Yes. The 2 watt Cree LED can be replaced, so the colour or beam can be changed without a new fitting.
