A Slim Pole Light You Push Straight Into the Ground
The LuxR Modux 1 Vale Pole Light is a slim low voltage garden light on its own 25.4mm pole, finished in a choice of seven powder coat colours. A small, fixed head at the top directs the light downwards and keeps the source out of view, so the light falls softly onto paths, patios, steps and planting. The lower end of the pole is pointed, so it is simply pushed into the earth. There is no separate stake or post to buy.
Powder Coated Aluminium
This version is CNC machined in aluminium with a UV resistant polyester Eco matt powder coat, available in matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Matt black is a deep, non reflective black, and matt bronze is a dark brown. The light source is a pin mounted 1 watt Cree XPG-3 LED, which the brand states delivers around 80 lumens with a CRI of 90+ at 3000K, a soft output that suits gentle path and accent lighting.
Choose Your Colour, Beam, Temperature and Lens
- Colour: pick from the seven powder coat finishes.
- Beam: 16º is a narrow beam for a tight pool of light, 37º is a medium spread, 84º is a wide wash, and the 13º+40º oval beam stretches the light into an oval shape.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
- Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, and frosted softens its edges.
How It Works
Push the pointed end of the pole into the soil to hold it in place. For a hard surface such as a patio, a flange mount is available, so please contact us to check the right accessory. The fitting runs on low voltage from a 350mA constant current driver, which is sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Dark finishes disappear against foliage and mulch, while lighter ones suit pale stone and rendered walls. Use it beside paths and patios, at the side of steps, in garden beds, among low planting or to light a small garden feature. The light comes from a compact head at the top of the pole, so it works well where you want light on the ground rather than a visible glowing lamp.

Questions People Ask
Is the Vale a clamp-on pole mount?
No. The manufacturer lists it as a pole mount, but the pole is part of the fitting itself. Its pointed end is pushed into the ground. A flange mount is available if you need to fix it to a hard surface, so please contact us.
Why do some websites call it the Vail?
The manufacturer spells the name Vail. We list it as the Vale, and it is the same fitting, product code M1 VAIL.
What colours does the powder coat Vale come in?
Seven finishes: matt black, matt bronze, matt olive green, matt white, matt white birch, matt dark grey and matt silver star. Bronze is a dark brown.
Can I see a colour sample before I order?
Yes. Colours on screen are for guidance only, and physical colour swatches are available on request.
Which beam angle should I choose?
Choose 16º for a narrow pool of light, 37º for a medium spread, 84º for a broad wash, or the 13º+40º oval to stretch the light along a path or border.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting that needs a suitable 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
How tall is it?
The pole measures 703mm from the bottom of the lamp housing to the tip, and the lamp housing is 55mm high. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.
Can I get a different pole length?
Please contact us with the length you need and we will check what is available.
