A Tiny Square Recessed Light in Stainless Steel

The LuxR Modux 1 Square Recessed is a very small low voltage garden light that sits recessed into a wall, step or edge. The square flange is just 42mm wide, and the body behind it is only 31mm in diameter. This version is made from marine grade 316 stainless steel, a tough, corrosion resistant metal with a clean, bright look that suits modern stone and paving.

Choose Your Beam, Colour Temperature and Lens

• Beam: 15º is the narrowest, 30º and 53º are progressively wider, and the oval beam stretches the light into a wider, flatter shape.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.

How It Works

Cut a 34.5mm hole, push the body in from the front and the flange sits neatly around the edge. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

This is a good choice where a larger recessed light would look out of scale, such as steps, low walls, planters and seating edges. Stainless steel suits modern schemes and areas near water or salt air. If you want more output, the same design is also available as the larger M2 and M4.

Does it come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered NICEIC electrician installs it.
