LuxR Modux 1 Square Recessed - Powder Coat - Low Voltage

A Tiny Square Recessed Light in Powder Coat

The LuxR Modux 1 Square Recessed is a very small low voltage garden light that sits recessed into a wall, step or edge. The square flange is just 42mm wide, and the body behind it is only 31mm in diameter. This version is UV powder coated aluminium, so you can match the finish to your stone, render or cladding.

Four Colours to Match Your Garden

• Matt Black: a quiet, dark finish that fades into shadow on slate, dark brick or timber.
• Matt Bronze: a softer, warmer tone that sits well against natural stone and planting.
• Matt White: a clean finish for pale render, limestone or white cladding.
• Matt Dark Grey: a modern neutral that works with concrete, paving and grey cladding.

Choose Your Beam, Colour Temperature and Lens

• Beam: 15º is the narrowest, 30º and 53º are progressively wider, and the oval beam stretches the light into a wider, flatter shape.
• Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
• Lens: clear gives the sharpest beam, while frosted softens the edges of the light.

How It Works

Cut a 34.5mm hole, push the body in from the front and the flange sits neatly around the edge. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED, and the optic can be changed to alter the beam width.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

This is a good choice where a larger recessed light would look out of scale, such as steps, low walls, planters and seating edges. If you want more output, the same design is also available as the larger M2 and M4.
