LuxR Modux 1 Pole Spot Copper

A Small Copper Pole Spot With a Soft Glow

The LuxR Modux 1 Pole Spot in copper is the smallest spotlight in the pole spot range, with a head just 30.95mm across on a 400mm pole. It is made for gentle accent lighting among ferns, grasses, pots and small trees, where a large fitting would look out of place. The head adjusts, so you can point the light exactly where it is needed.

Solid Natural Copper

This version is machined in solid natural copper, which starts as a warm reddish brown. Outdoors it ages naturally, so the colour will slowly darken and develop a patina of its own over the seasons. Inside the head sits a pin mounted 1 watt Cree LED, which the brand states delivers around 80 lumens, a soft output that suits warm, low key lighting.

Choose Your Beam, Colour and Lens

Beam: 15º is a very narrow, long reach beam, 30º gives a narrow beam for a single feature, 53º is a wider cone for a small shrub or a clump of planting, and the oval beam spreads light sideways along a low wall or border edge.
Colour temperature: 2200K is the warmest glow and works beautifully with copper, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a cooler white.
Lens: the clear lens keeps the beam crisp, and the frosted lens softens its edges.

How It Works

Push the pole into the ground and tilt the head to aim the light. This is a low voltage fitting that runs from a 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. Pair it with a dimmable driver if you want to dim it. The LED can be replaced later without changing the fitting.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Copper sits well against green planting, timber and stone. Use this small version where you want a hint of warm light rather than a strong beam, such as beside a path, in a pot or under a low tree. For more output, look at the Modux 2 or Modux 4 pole spots. We can also supply longer poles, so please contact us to discuss the length you need.

Questions People Ask

Will the copper M1 pole spot change colour outdoors?

Yes. Natural copper ages when it is left outside, and the surface slowly darkens and develops a patina. This is normal for the material.

How does the M1 compare with the M2 and M4?

The M1 uses a 1 watt LED that gives around 80 lumens and has the smallest head. The M2 uses a 2 watt LED for around 180 lumens, and the M4 uses a 4 watt LED for around 360 lumens.

Which beam suits a small shrub?

A 53º beam is a good all round choice for a small shrub. Use 15º or 30º for a single stem or ornament, and the oval beam for a low wall or border edge.

Is a driver included?

No. It needs a suitable 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

How tall is the M1 pole spot?

The pole is 400mm long and the whole fitting measures 482.7mm from the tip of the spike to the top of the head. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push it into the soil.

Can I get a longer pole?

Yes. We can supply longer poles, so please contact us with the length you need.
