A Slim Copper Halo Pole Light for Paths and Planting
The LuxR Modux 1 Halo is a slim pole light, only 25mm in diameter, that casts a downward 360º wash of light. The brand states it gives little to no glare. It suits lighting paths or downlighting small shrubs and grasses.
Copper That Weathers Naturally
This version is machined from copper. It starts out warm and bright, then slowly develops a natural patina outdoors, so the slim pole fades into planting over the seasons. The light source is a push mounted 1 watt Cree XPG-3 LED with a CRI of 90 plus.
Choose Your Mounting and Colour
- Mounting: the Halo comes with a spiked base to push straight into the ground. Choose the 25mm Flange Mount option if you want to fix it to a solid surface.
- Colour temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
Push the spike into the soil so the head hovers above the ground and the light falls downwards in a full circle. It runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED can be replaced, or swapped for a colour LED.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Use it along a path edge or among low planting, where light from above is more natural than light from below. Several in a row make a rhythm along a border. It sits low and thin, so it will not compete with the planting.

Questions People Ask
How tall is the Halo?
The pole is 600mm long plus 25mm for the top, with a 63mm diameter head on a 25mm pole.
Do I need the flange mount?
Only if you are fixing it to a solid surface. The Halo comes with a spiked base for pushing into soil, and the flange mount option is for hard surfaces.
Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Copper develops a natural patina outdoors, so it darkens and softens over time. This is normal.
Can I change the LED later?
Yes. The Cree LED can be replaced or swapped for a colour LED.
