LuxR Modux 1 Halo Extended - Powder Coat - Low Voltage

A Dark Sky Certified Halo With a Wide, Flat Head

The LuxR Modux 1 Extended Halo is a slim pole light with a wide flat disc on top. It casts a 360º wash of light downwards without glare, and it is Dark Sky certified, so the light stays where it is needed. The pole is 700mm long and only 25mm across, topped with a 110mm wide head. It is an adaptation of the original Halo, with a wider head, a longer pole and Dark Sky certification.

Powder Coated Aluminium in Seven Colours

This version is CNC machined from aluminium with a highly UV resistant polyester powder coat, so the colour is part of a tough finish made for the garden. Matt Black is a deep, non reflective black, and Matt Bronze is a dark brown. Matt Olive Green, Matt White, Matt White Birch, Matt Dark Grey and Matt Silver Star complete the range. The light source is a 1 watt Cree XPG-3 LED, which the brand states delivers around 80 lumens, with a CRI of 90 plus. The Extended Halo is also made in other materials.

Choose Your Colour and Lamp Temperature

• Powder coat colour: Matt Black, Matt Bronze, Matt Olive Green, Matt White, Matt White Birch, Matt Dark Grey or Matt Silver Star.
• Lamp temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.

How It Works

The pole has an angle cut end that pushes straight into the ground. A flange mount for solid surfaces is also available from the manufacturer, so please contact us if you need one. The fitting runs on low voltage from a 350mA constant current driver, which is not included. It can be dimmed when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. The LED can be replaced, or swapped for a colour LED.

Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.

Where It Works Best

Use it to light a pathway, or to wash light down over small shrubs and grasses. It also suits gardens where keeping light spill and glare down matters. Moonlight Design uses LuxR in its own garden lighting designs and installations.

Questions People Ask

What makes the Extended Halo different from the standard Halo?

It has a wider 110mm head, a longer 700mm pole and Dark Sky certification. Both give a 360º downward wash.

Does it come with a driver?

No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable 350mA constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.

How tall is it?

The pole is 700mm long and 25mm across, and the head is 110mm across and 27mm high. How much shows above ground depends on how deep you push the pole in.

Can I fix it to a patio or other hard surface?

Yes. The standard pole pushes into soil, and a flange mount for solid surfaces is available. Please contact us to check the right accessory.

Which powder coat colours cannot be returned?

Matt Olive Green, Matt White, Matt White Birch, Matt Dark Grey and Matt Silver Star are marked Non-Returnable in the colour selector, so they cannot be returned once ordered. Physical colour swatches are available on request.

Can I change the LED later?

Yes. The Cree LED can be replaced, or substituted for a colour LED.
