A Dark Sky Certified Copper Halo with a Wide Head
The LuxR Modux 1 Halo Extended builds on the original Halo with a taller 700mm pole and a much wider 110mm head. It casts a full 360º wash of light downwards, and it is Dark Sky certified. The brand states that this focused downward light reduces light spill and glare, and helps keep the night sky dark.
Solid Copper That Ages Naturally
This version is made from copper. It starts out warm and bright, then gradually develops a soft natural patina outdoors, so it blends into the planting over time. The light comes from a replaceable dimmable module with a 1 watt Cree XPG-3 LED and a CRI of 90 plus. The Extended Halo is also made in other materials.
Choose Your Lamp Temperature
- Lamp temperature: 2200K is a very warm glow that suits the copper well, 2700K and 3000K are warm white, and 4000K is a crisper neutral white.
How It Works
The pole has an angle cut end that pushes into the ground, or you can use a flange mount for solid surfaces. The fitting runs on low voltage, so it needs a suitable constant current driver, which is not included, and it is wired in series. It is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable driver. A 1m cable is supplied. The LED module can be replaced.
Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting should be installed by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
This is a good choice for lighting pathways or downlighting small shrubs and grasses where you want a wider pool of light than the standard Halo gives. It also suits gardens where keeping light pollution down matters. Moonlight Design uses LuxR in its own garden lighting designs and installations.

Does it come with a driver?
No. It is a low voltage fitting and needs a suitable constant current driver, sold separately. A dimmable driver lets you dim the light. We recommend a registered electrician installs it.
Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Copper develops a natural patina outdoors over time, so the finish softens and darkens gradually. This is normal.
What does Dark Sky certified mean here?
The light is aimed downwards to limit spill and glare. The brand states this helps protect the night sky and keeps the evening ambience natural.
Can I fit it to a hard surface?
Yes. Use the flange mount option for solid surfaces, or the angle cut pole for pushing into the ground.
