The Light Symphony Gate Interface with Repeater, model LS30800REP, links a suitable electric gate or external sensor trigger to a Light Symphony lighting system. It allows arrival at the entrance to initiate a lighting response instead of relying solely on someone pressing a handset.

It is particularly relevant where the property already has gate automation. The interface uses an appropriate signal from that system; it is not itself a beam detector or a replacement gate motor controller.

An Interface With a Second Role

The unit combines an isolated gate input with a wireless repeater inside an IP66 enclosure. Its repeater function relays compatible Light Symphony commands, which can help communication across a larger site.

The gate input must be matched to the external equipment by the installer. The right connection depends on the actual gate control system, so a generic connection assumption should not be used.

How the Lighting Trigger Works

When triggered, the interface sends compatible lighting controllers an instruction to operate for an adjustable period of 1 to 15 minutes. An adjustable dusk setting can prevent unnecessary daytime triggers.

Where It Works Best

This accessory suits a gate entrance where a reliable external trigger already exists and lighting should respond to it. A driveway approach can then form part of the same lighting scheme as paths and planting.

Check Coverage Along the Approach

The manufacturer states up to 1,000 metres of wireless range in clear line of sight, with obstacles reducing coverage. The repeater should be positioned and commissioned as part of the complete radio system.

The lighting still needs compatible controllers, suitable power supplies and properly installed circuits. A gate interface adds automation to those components; it does not provide extra lighting outputs or detect every approaching vehicle independently.
