A low voltage wash light in a finish built to last
The Hunza Wall Down Light has a fixed head designed for one job: an even wash of light down a wall, pier or run of cladding, rather than a directional beam. This version is solid 316 stainless steel and runs on low voltage.
The stainless steel finish
316 grade is the marine specification Hunza uses across its metal range, selected for how it stands up to damp and salt air over time. It keeps a consistent brushed look rather than changing colour the way copper does, though Hunza notes it can develop a light surface tarnish in some conditions, which regular washing keeps at bay.
How it works
Once mounted, the head stays fixed in whichever direction you set it, up or down the wall. It's suitable for timber, masonry or stone, the body is water resistant, and it's supplied with a mounting base and stainless steel fixing screws. It measures 75mm high and 82.5mm wide, with a 28mm projection off the wall.
Being a low voltage fitting, it needs a transformer, sold separately. It isn't supplied with a bulb, and a Hunza approved MR16 LED lamp is required to keep the IP rating and warranty valid. The same fixture is also available as a GU10 mains version.
Where it works best
This suits long flat surfaces, exterior walls, gable ends, chimney breasts and boundary fencing, more than a single feature you want to spotlight. Stainless steel's neutral tone means it tends to sit quietly against most brick, render or timber without drawing attention to itself in daylight.

Questions People Ask
- Will the stainless steel finish rust or fade? No. It's 316 marine grade steel, the same specification used on boat fittings, chosen to resist salt air and damp. It can develop a light surface tarnish in some conditions, which a wash removes.
- Does this fitting need a transformer? Yes. It's low voltage, so it needs a transformer to step down the mains supply, sold separately and not included with the light.
- Can I aim the light up or down the wall? The head is fixed once mounted, so you decide the direction, up or down, when you install it, and it stays that way.
- Is a bulb included? No. You'll need a Hunza approved MR16 LED lamp, sold separately, to keep the IP66 rating and warranty valid.
- Can this fitting be used indoors? No, it's built and rated for outdoor use only, like the rest of the Hunza range.
