A Mains Wall Washer in Stainless Steel
The Hunza Wall Down Light GU10 has a fixed head that lays an even wash of light down a wall, pier or length of cladding. It runs on GU10 mains, so there is no transformer to plan around and the wiring stays simple. This version is made from 316 stainless steel.
Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
316 is the marine grade Hunza uses across its solid metal range, chosen to stand up to damp, salt air and general weathering. The metal keeps a consistent appearance rather than painting or plating that could chip. Hunza notes it may develop a light surface tarnish in some environments, and a periodic wash sorts that out.
How It Works
- The head is fixed after mounting, so you choose up or down the wall during installation.
- Fixes to timber, masonry or stone with the supplied mounting base and stainless steel screws.
- Body diameter 63.5mm and length 90mm, on a 75mm diameter base 28mm deep.
- GU10 mains, wired in parallel, with no driver or transformer to add.
- Needs a Hunza approved GU10 LED lamp, not supplied, to keep the IP rating and warranty valid.
- Rated IP66 with a 10 year warranty.

How We Plan and Install Hunza Lighting
Moonlight Design began working with Hunza in 2003, and this is one of the fittings we return to for straightforward mains wall washing. We design lighting schemes, supply Hunza fittings and install them with NICEIC registered electricians. Good to Know
- Made to order and usually dispatched within 2 to 3 days. If it is out of stock, allow 3 to 5 weeks.
- It can be returned within 14 days of delivery when unused, uninstalled and in original packaging.
- No lamp is supplied. Fit a Hunza approved GU10 LED.
- Mains powered, so no transformer is required.
- A registered NICEIC electrician should install it.
Questions People Ask
Will stainless steel discolour outdoors?
It is marine grade 316, chosen to resist salt air and weathering. A light surface tarnish can appear in some conditions and washes off.
Does this version need a transformer?
No. It connects to a standard mains circuit.
Is a lamp included?
No. You need a Hunza approved GU10 LED, sold separately.
Can the direction be changed after installation?
No. Decide on up or down the wall when you fit it.
Is there a low voltage version?
Yes, the same Wall Down Light is made for low voltage, running through a transformer with an MR16 lamp.
