A fixed copper spotlight that runs straight off the mains
The Hunza Spike Spot Non-Adjustable GU10 is a ground spike spotlight that pushes straight into a border, lawn edge or planting bed. This is the fixed head version, so the angle is set once at installation. Running on GU10 mains keeps the wiring simple, no transformer, just a standard mains connection. This version is solid copper.
The copper finish
Our own photographs of this fitting show the body, collar and spike are all the same solid copper, not a plated finish over something cheaper underneath. Left outdoors it will weather naturally, moving from bright and polished toward a darker brown and, in some settings, a green verdigris. Hunza treats this as part of the design rather than something to prevent.
How it works
You push the 145mm spike into the ground and angle the body where you want the light to fall. There's no moving head to loosen or reset later. The fitting is 63.5mm in diameter and 90mm long. It isn't supplied with a bulb, and a Hunza approved GU10 LED lamp is required to keep the IP66 rating and warranty valid. The same fitting is also available as a low voltage version if you'd prefer to run it through a transformer instead.
Where it works best
Good anywhere you want a single point of accent light and already know exactly where it needs to be aimed: a fixed feature, a doorway or a spot where the planting around it isn't going to change much year to year, particularly where copper's warmth and slow change in tone over the years suits the setting.

Questions People Ask
Does this version need a transformer?
No. It runs directly from a standard mains supply, unlike the low voltage version of the same fitting which needs one.
What bulb does it need?
A Hunza approved GU10 LED lamp, bought separately. A different lamp can affect the IP66 rating and will invalidate the warranty.
Will the copper look the same in a few years?
No, and that's intentional. Solid copper darkens and can develop a green patina outdoors over time.
Can I change the angle after installation?
No, this is the fixed head version, so decide on the angle when you install it. An adjustable version of the Spike Spot is also available from Hunza.
Is there a low voltage version of this fitting?
Yes, the same copper Spike Spot Non-Adjustable is also available as a low voltage version, which runs through a transformer rather than directly off the mains.
