A Snoot for Lights Up in the Trees
The Hunza Glare Guard Moonlight protects the eye from direct glare and sparkle from the lamp, and shields unwanted light from people nearby. It is a cylinder rather than having the front cut at an angle, and Hunza makes it for fittings such as an NPS Spot or Pond Lite that are mounted or suspended in a tree to create a moonlighting effect.
Solid Copper for Natural Ageing
This one is copper, 63.5mm in diameter and 100mm long. Hunza designs copper to age outdoors, moving from a natural salmon sheen through russet browns and greys to a blue green or grey green patina, so it tends to blend into foliage over time. Stainless steel and powder coated aluminium versions are also made.
How It Fits
- The guard screws onto the luminaire in place of the standard lens ring and does not affect the IP rating of the fitting.
- It is fully adjustable through 360 degrees.
- A second lens, such as Hunza's frosted lens, can be fitted to stop debris building up inside the guard.
- Hunza's datasheet gives the copper Moonlight guard a weight of 0.4kg.
Garden Lighting Schemes by Moonlight Design
Moonlight Design has worked with Hunza since 2003. We design lighting schemes for gardens, supply Hunza fittings and install them with NICEIC registered electricians. The projects on our Design Service page are our own completed schemes, and the page explains how we plan and draw them up. Visit it if you are thinking about lighting your trees.
