Copper on a Pole, Lighting the Way
A copper spotlight on a slim 850mm pole looks quietly handsome in a planted border. The Hunza Single Pole Light in solid copper lights paths and low foliage from above, and its head can be aimed down to keep stray light out of your eyes. This version runs on low voltage.
Solid Copper That Develops Character
The metal is solid copper rather than a coating. Hunza expects it to patina outdoors: bright and warm to begin with, deepening to brown over time, and in the end taking on a soft green. That is part of its charm and not a defect. If you want a finish that does not change, there are stainless steel and powder coated aluminium versions of the same light.
How It Works
- Swivel the head 360 degrees and elevate it from 0 to 90 degrees. Angle it downward to eliminate vertical light.
- 63.5mm body diameter, 75mm body length, and a pole 38mm in diameter and 850mm long, with 1m of cable.
- Wired in parallel on low voltage with a transformer, which is sold separately. Browse the Hunza transformers.
- You supply the lamp. It takes an MR16 LED, and a Hunza approved LED maintains the IP rating and warranty.
- Dimmable if dimmable LEDs are fitted.
- IP56/IP66 rated with a 10 year warranty.
Where It Works Best
- Along stepping stones or a gravel path through a cottage garden
- Beside a pond margin where plants need a gentle wash
- In mixed borders with ornamental grasses
- Next to a seating area where low light is more comfortable than bright light
Garden Lighting Schemes by Moonlight Design
Hunza has been part of our work at Moonlight Design since 2003. We plan garden lighting schemes, supply Hunza fittings and install them in real gardens. The photographs on our Design Service page show our own completed schemes, and describe how we plan, draw and install a lighting layout with NICEIC registered electricians. We would be glad to see you there if you are planning a garden.
