The largest fitting in the Galena collection, this 4 light lamp post is a freestanding post design built to mark a driveway, front path or garden entrance rather than sit against a wall. Seeded glass panels and a clean lined frame give it an elegant, understated look, a world away from the heavier, more ornate lamp posts you often see.

Sable finish

The Sable finish has a deep, near black tone that sits quietly behind the seeded glass, letting the texture of the glass do the visual work rather than the metalwork. It suits stone, brick, render and most garden hardware without competing with any of them.

How it works

This fitting does not come with a bulb, so you will need to add some to your order, up to four if you want every panel lit. Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting is installed by a registered NICEIC electrician, and for a post fitting like this, that also means a suitable base or mounting point and an outdoor rated cable run.

The story behind Feiss

Few outdoor lighting brands can trace their roots back as far as Feiss, founded in the South Bronx in 1955 by Murray Feiss, who wired imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases and had his mother Rose hand sew the shades. Three generations of family ownership carried that small workshop to become one of America's best known decorative lighting names, with a range stretching across chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and the design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss in the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting collections including Galena for 220 to 240V electrics. Galena itself takes a more pared back approach to the outdoor lantern, built around clean lines and seeded glass rather than heavier ironwork or overtly period detailing.
