From the same Theydon family as the recessed small lights, this rectangular wall lamp is also made from white paintable gypsum and works on the same principle: once installed, it can be painted to match or contrast with your wall. Unlike the smaller recessed version, this one throws light both up and down along the wall surface, giving an even glow across a wider area.

Choosing Your Finish

The white gypsum finish takes emulsion paint easily once the fitting is installed, so you can blend it seamlessly into your wall colour or pick it out as a design detail. The rectangular shape feels more minimalist than round forms, and its proportions mean it suits hallways, landings and alcoves particularly well.

How It Works

A single G9 capsule bulb sits inside the gypsum casing and directs light upward and downward along the wall surface, creating that characteristic soft, vertical glow rather than a single bright spot. The fitting takes a maximum 10W bulb, which you'll need to source separately. It's dimmable if you pair it with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer. It's wired to Class I standards and needs an earth connection during installation.

Perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and dining rooms where you want subtle ambient wall lighting that won't intrude on your scheme. The rectangular shape and flush fitting make it particularly suited to hallways and landings, where you want even distribution of soft light without any obvious fixture. Not suitable for bathrooms or other damp areas due to its IP20 rating.

This version is a rectangular wall lamp rather than recessed, and throws light both up and down the wall to create a wider vertical glow. The smaller recessed version throws light downward only.
